This Week at Pathways to Pride!

Hello All,

This week at Pathways to Pride Ed Enrichment Tuesdays and Thursdays!

The Young Explorers (5th grade) and Crystal will enjoy Samba and Percussion lessons from visiting Global Arts to Go artists Alex and Dina beginning this Tuesday! We can't wait to see what the students are learning on display!

The Royal Cubs (6th Grade-Kim and Andrew) and the Mind Motivators (6h Grade-Anwar and Yolibeth) will be continuing their Science Graphic Design sessions and their Technology sessions with Mr. Alex  and Mr. Mark from Bronx Community College on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The  Omegas (7th grade) will attend a play "Ain't Easy" at Hostos Community College Center on December 2nd and so will the City Bosses (8th Grade)

The City Bosses will continue with the Junior Achievement Economics for Success lessons as a part of their Pathway to "ME" plans.

I look forward to seeing the collaboration between the City Bosses and Young Explorers coming soon! (Shhh...don't tell the 5th graders that the 8th graders are beginning an advice column for them soon!)

This Thursday, our regularly scheduled Staff Development will begin at 5:45pm promptly. I do hope that all will be in attendance! (if you received this blog post, I'd like to see you at Staff Development).

I will be circulating Tuesday, checking up on the kids and assisting you all in anyway I can. Let me know if you need me to bring anything during my visits.

Until Tuesday,

Tate

This Week at Pathways to Pride!

Hey Pathway Guides,

Over the past two weeks, our Pathways to Pride rollout, I have seen some happy faces!!! I have seen the 5th graders collaborating on their banner, the 7th graders create chants that will set them apart from any group, the 8th graders create a name that establishes them as leaders and the 6th graders both groups establish their identities and the codes they will live by!

Good job on creating communities! (and decreasing the number of students who choose to remain in study hall) Everything I have seen points to greater enthusiasm and engagement on the part of the kids! Let's keep that going!

Thanks go out to Eve, who has submitted her Pathway plans for Pathway 2! I can't wait to see the plans that everyone else has at tonight's planning session! (No, really your plans are late. Let's identify what the hangups and complications may be tonight.)

Next week (Tuesday and Thursday afternoons), the activities and workshops you have planned should be put into practice with your kids. So let's bounce ideas off on each other. You can use this blog! I'm looking forward to helping you make your ideas come to life. Let's talk!

Thanks a bunch for all you do!

Let's start these journeys!
